Thanks for stopping by! Creating a food blog has been on my bucket list for some time but I’ve always had some excuse. At first it was lack of time while I was attending school. Then it was not having a fancy camera; we all know the best part of food blogs is looking at the pictures. Once those two excuses were out of the way came the biggest obstacle – what should I name my food blog? After many failed attempts at creating a catchy name that fits my point of view I became defeated. However one day after watching one of our favourite TV shows my husband came up with “Breaking Bland”. I knew instantly that it was a perfect fit.
Ok you’re probably here to find out a little about me. Well I’m a registered dietitian by day and avid home cook by night. For me cooking isn’t a chore, it’s something I enjoy doing and love to share my creations with friends and family. My best memories centre around food and I’m not ashamed to admit that I love to take pictures of that food that I eat – even if we are out in public!
I come from a long line of great home cooks and owe my love of cooking to my Mom. We were very fortunate to have a garden growing up and I learned not only where food comes from but how to prepare and cook fresh healthy meals. I wanted to create this blog to share delicious healthy recipes that will be fun to make and share with the people you love. Don’t worry there will be plenty of dessert posts as well; a well balanced diet is all about moderation and enjoying the food you eat. If it doesn’t taste good why eat it? It’s time to break bland!
